Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience in Business Relationship Management for IT and Project Management experience along with a technical background in Applications or Infrastructure.

The IT Manager will be responsible for understanding the business objectives, being the site(s) IT leader, and owning the IT responsibilities for a ThermoFisher Business Unit (BU). The role will work in conjunction with IT Divisional and IT Shared Services leaders to establish and execute a BU technology strategy / roadmap along with supporting corporate, group, and divisional IT priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of IT contact between the Business Unit and Group/Division IT, developing and maintaining productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders both within the business and IT.
  • Understand the strategic business direction in an effort to identify opportunities for technology innovation
  • Facilitate the prioritization of technology projects for the BU, and advocating for their priority within the division/group.
  • Own the technology portfolio that supports the business unit which includes the delivery and support of systems and services within a matrixed environment
  • Coordinate and assist the technical efforts of other IT groups and vendors to ensure the effective maintenance and enhancements of IT systems and services
  • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: (required)

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related scientific discipline or equivalent education and experience
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective organizational and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated management skills and understanding of project management lifecycle
  • Strong written and verbal communications and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users

Other Job Requirements: (preferred)

  • Experience within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry and working knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes (GMP) and Computer Systems Validation (CSV).
  • Experience in facilitating innovation in business process and technical solution delivery
  • Understanding of IT portfolio management and evaluating project criteria on ROI, strategic alignment, cost savings and suitability
  • Experience interfacing and communicating with Executives in relation to Information Technology projects
  • Experience leading a matrix team of professionals and navigating within a large IT organization with a high number of technologies and technical disciplines

POSITION DESCRIPTION: Designs, configures network devices, and implements changes to the network infrastructure. Enforces system standards.  Monitors network performance and adjusts network equipment as necessary to provide optimum performance. Troubleshoots network problems and outages, schedules upgrades, and collaborates with network engineers for network optimization

  • Performs advanced troubleshooting to determine cause of problem. Works with staff on issues outside their areas of responsibility as needed.
  • Performs network backups and file restorations as required.  Monitors backups ensuring the integrity of the data.  Provides quality control reports of backup results.
  • Performs network storage administration and provisioning, including support for the Storage Area Network (SAN).  Plans for SAN growth, assesses and monitors SAN environment, creates Logical Unit Number (LUN) drives.  Provisions and configures drive arrays and LUNs to manage security on the SAN and ensures only those with authorization can access specific LUNs.
  • Performs Active Directory administration following current applicable standards and guidelines.  Installs Active Directory Domain Services.  Administers Active Directory by using administrative tools.  Creates and manages user and service accounts.  Creates and administers computer objects and accounts to join the domain.  Implements and manages Group Policy infrastructure; troubleshoots policy application.
  • Performs system administration and provisioning.  Controls access and authorization (creating and assigning members to the appropriate role), sets up the distribution infrastructure, and installs and configures servers.  Responds to system warnings, alerts, and errors, and diagnoses and resolves system problems.  Plans for high availability configurations.   Follows provisioning policies to grant access to the Department’s managed resources.
  • Plans, organizes, manages and tracks projects.  Develops the project plan and schedule.  Supports and informs project stakeholders and team.  Identifies and mitigates project risks and conflicts.  Tracks project progress and goals achieved.
  • Generates and maintains technical documentation as assigned.  Creates network topology diagrams for network segments, the routers connecting the segments, servers, gateways and other major pieces of networking hardware.  Documents server names, roles, and addresses.  Documents changes such as application installations and modified security settings as required.
  • Responds to security incidents as assigned.  Captures additional event data and performs preliminary analysis to determine criticality.  Escalates events if emergency response is determined necessary.  Reviews and analyzes log data to determine nature and scope of incident.  Uses virus, spyware, rootkit and other detection tools to determine necessary mitigation and repair.  Documents all steps taken and subsequent resolutions.
  • Monitors Service Desk queue and resolves support tickets as assigned.  Documents work performed and resolution(s). Identify, analyze and resolve problems and issues through the use of troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork. Provides high level of customer service by providing status and information to the customer.
  • Participates on statewide teams, both internal and external to the Office of Information Technology.  Provide facts to facilitate the team’s decision making process and to achieve the team’s goals.  Shares information and receives feedback from other Office of Information Technology staff as appropriate.
  • Maintains current Disaster Recovery Plan.  Conducts testing and development of disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions and backup systems as it relates to network functionality.  Performs risk assessments and business impact analysis to identify the information technology services that support the Department’s critical business activities.

SUMMARY: The IT Audit Director is responsible for initiating and managing audits and advisory projects, the results of which will help the Bank manage strategic risks, improve or develop efficient and effective business processes, identify and communicate best practices, and foster appropriate control levels for business and financial risks. The IT Audit Director is also responsible for identifying business risk for and developing comprehensive risk-based audit plans to monitor and evaluate management’s controls over business risks. In addition, the IT Audit Director is responsible for recruiting, hiring, training, developing and mentoring professional staff, and appraising performance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned.
  • Conducts annual and ongoing internal IT audit risk assessments to develop a risk-based audit plan. Directs the auditing of information technology within the organization.
  • Designs, develops, and implements IT auditing policy and procedures within the organization.
  • Identifies emerging information technology risks and makes recommendations for improvement to top management.
  • Provides input to the department budget, human resource requirements, and staffing plans.
  • Prepares periodic activity and status reports for presentation to the Chief Auditor and Audit Committee.
  • Perform advanced, specialized or complex IT auditing work in multiple disciplines.
  • Draft or review IT audit reports and conduct exit conferences with management to discuss findings and management’s response.
  • Provides subject matter expertise over responsible IT audit areas.
  • Ensures that all audit, non-audit, and administrative activities are economical, effective, and efficient, and are in accordance with Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and government regulations and laws.
  • Ensures the execution of the IT internal audit plan through optimal use of available human and technological resources.
  • Supervise IT Audits Managers and staff to successfully accomplish project goals and meet customer expectations.
  • Communicates results of IT audit and advisory work to the Audit Committee, senior management, and external auditors via oral and written presentations.
  • Assists the Chief Auditor during interactions with regulators.
  • Establishes an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect amongst internal audit team members and with all levels of BankUnited management.

  • CPA, CIA, or CISA or other relevant certification required.
  • Experience in performing risk assessments, developing audit plans, performing financial and operational audits and reporting results to audit committees.
  • Experience in scoping, developing documentation, determining key risks, testing and assisting with management final assessment.
  • Must have project management experience.
  • Ability to deal with challenging situations.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
