Chris “Jobs” Stephenson was one of many top business professionals in attendance at the first Project Management Institute (PMI) Dinner of 2017 located at the Marriott North in Fort Lauderdale on Thursday  February 23, 2017 from 5:00pm-9:00pm.

This was a very special event because it marked the very first time Chris Jobs was recognized as an official Programs/Events volunteer for 2017 which means he will be will be responsible for coordinating and supporting all PMI dinners, awards ceremonies and special events scheduled throughout the Broward County area this year.  Now that the PMI has expanded into 3 chapters which includes; Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade Counties they are finally able to provide more accessibility, convenience and quality to better meet the changing demands of today’s successful project management professional living in South Florida.

Chris Stephenson attended the 2017 Project Management Institute (PMI) South Florida Chapter Volunteers On-boarding Session at Broward Community College (BCC) in Miramar, Florida from 9:00am-12:30pm hosted by VP of Membership Services Rick Reguiera who later introduced all of the VP’s for other departments within the PMI like Technology, Programs, Finance, Operations and Marketing to name a few.  There were about 20-30 attendees with diverse professional skills and backgrounds ranging from Project Managers, Agile/Scrum Masters/Coaches, Business Analysts and Software Developers looking to either enhance their technical skills or broaden their professional network.

Out of all the great departments to choose from, Chris decided to select Programs as his first choice, Education as a second and Marketing as his third choice without later realizing that both Programs and Marketing cross points throughout the year since marketing is responsible for promoting/advertising/marketing all venues/events/dinners developed/coordinated/managed/facilitated by Programs for the Project Management Institute South Florida Chapter.

Towards the end spirits seemed very high and conversation sounded relatively positive so hopefully Chris receives the phone call from the VP of Programs with some good news. Only time will tell, so stay tuned to find out what happens.

These local communities help spread awareness of the profession and PMI by reaching out to local governments and organizations, hosting events or seminars for local practitioners and providing opportunities to learn, network and earn Professional Development Units (PDUs) toward maintaining credentials.

Chris Stephenson was confirmed today as one of the guest speakers at this years 2017 South Florida Code Camp on Saturday March 11, 2017!  

What is Code Camp? South Florida Code Camp is a FREE one day GEEK FEST held on Saturday March 11, 2017. This is the 13th year for South Florida Code Camp. The event will have speakers from the local community and beyond. Speakers will be presenting some of the most requested topics like Machine Learning, DotNet Core, Windows 10, Mobile Development, ASP.NET, Javascript, JQuery, Visual Studio 2015, MVC Framework, Sharepoint, SQL Server 2016, Xamarin, cross platform development and Azure. Code Camp is community driven by a group of dedicated volunteers and speakers. Breakfast and lunch is included!
